Gunki perch 2019
It all started in one of mine and my dad’s summer trips to the northern parts of Sweden. Up there, we were going on hikes and fished for herring, perch, rainbow trout and grayling. We used fly and spinning rods. Since then, fly-fishing became very interesting to me and i started to spend more and more time in fly-fishing. Already in early years, I tied my own flies and fished in my friends pond, which belongs to his grandparents. Mostly we were hunting rainbow trout. Suddenly, southern parts of Sweden became my temporary home.
Later, me and my family moved up to Småland where bunch of new fishing buddies appeared. They were hunting only pike, and as you expect - i was also. I was only 15yo and caught my very first 10kg+ pike! It was a monster of just 105 cm...
Time was running and sadly i had to pause my fishing journey for a couple of long years. After very long brake, i felt butterflies flying in my stomach, who said to me – pickup the rod and go fish!
In 2013 I met Mattias and we started to fish together as a partners. Most of the times, we were hooked on vertical fishing and hunting mainly the zander. Later, my partner took me on some specimanfishing and introduced ice-fishing to me. That was my pivot point - fishing became more than just a hobby, it became a lifestyle for me. Since then, me and Mattias have been spin-fishing for perch, zander and participated in number of competitions.
Fishing to me is everything. It flows adrenaline in my blood. Adventures with great friends and family is something that touches me every time. Each year, i have said to myself – that i will be better and stronger. Learning and improving is what drives me. As a professional angler who participated in tournaments, i appreciate how important is to create new strategies for each event.
This year our team goal is monster perch. In-land waters is what we are going to target. I assume that Spring and Autumn seasons are going to be extremely busy for our team, since it's the best time to hunt for those monsters.
